Many of you already know and admire our first Athlete Member of the Month. For those of you who don’t please allow me to introduce him to you. Simpson Gray is 31 years old, married to his lovely wife August, and father to My’khia, Kayden, and Audrey. Since becoming a member at CFN, we have watched Simpson continue to improve his overall fitness each time he comes to the gym. With the help of everyone in the Northlake family, he has been able to grab hold of his health and steer it back in the right direction. Each workout I watch him push harder and harder to finish one second sooner and it motivates me to be a better coach and CrossFitter. Keep up the good work Simpson!
NORTHLAKE: Where are you from originally?
SIMPSON: Augusta, GA
NORTHLAKE: What is your favorite WOD/movement?
SIMPSON: Front squats
NORTHLAKE: What is your least favorite WOD/ Movement?
NORTHLAKE: What were you doing before CrossFit? How did you hear about CrossFit and/ CrossFit Northlake?
SIMPSON: I was a member of ZX Fitness and I heard about CrossFit Northlake through Justin Jackson (bro).
NORTHLAKE: What other sports or activities do you participate in besides CrossFit?
SIMPSON: I spend most of my time with family and perfecting my menu selections for my catering service, Hot & Fresh Express.
NORTHLAKE: How many times per week do you CrossFit?
SIMPSON: 3-4 times per week
NORTHLAKE: What is your athletic background?
SIMPSON: I was involved in various sports in high school.
NORTHLAKE: Give us some insight as to your thoughts after your first workout at CrossFit Northlake.
SIMPSON: What in the world have I gotten myself into?!!
NORTHLAKE: Do you have any special or favorite CrossFit Northlake memories/moments?
SIMPSON: Running up the hill and falling on the floor once it was over. Jason catching me walking behind the building.
NORTHLAKE: What advice would you give to a newbie or someone just joining CrossFit Northlake?
SIMPSON: Stay committed
NORTHLAKE: What is your eating style?
SIMPSON: Since joining CrossFit Northlake, I have changed my eating habits from constant snacking and fried foods to fresh selections that are satisfying and healthy. I still snack from time to time, but I remain mindful of intake.
NORTHLAKE: What kind of results have you seen since starting at CrossFit Northlake.
SIMPSON: I have lost 20 pounds and my energy level has increased significantly.
NORTHLAKE: What do you do for a living?
SIMPSON: I am pursuing my passion as a chef; my goal is to have a food truck within the next 2 years. I specialize in delicious and healthy breakfast items and long with theme based lunches such as Fish Fry Fridays. I am always seeking new customers to serve.
